These sea trout fishing courses were started by Ken Smith and myself over 8 years ago. Mainly fly fishing they provide a fantastic introduction to sea trout fishing, whilst having the flexibility to offer the experienced fisher a serious challenge. Sadly Ken is no longer with us, but the courses still go from strength to strength.
Venue & Accommodation The sea trout courses are held at the Wainsford House Estate, Two Waters Foot, about six miles out of Bodmin, off the A38 on the road to Liskeard. The accommodation is within 3 houses built around a courtyard and a small cottage on the banks of the River Warlaggen. There is an excellent rod room. The accommodation is modern and extremely comfortable. All linen is provided. Food is served in one of the houses.
The Fishings The fishings take place on the 2.5 miles of the River Fowey exclusive to the Wainsford Estate, the River Warlaggen runs through the estate, we have exclusive fishing on this excellent stream. The 3 small estate lakes offer first class fishing. We also have access to other fishings on the River Fowey and the River Camel. To put it simply there is more fishing than you could shake a stick at. Most of the sea trout fishing takes place at night. Fishing is mainly fly fishing but other methods are allowed when appropriate
